Satan is a clever devil

We live in a world that judges others based on religion, race, gender and social status. The result is social injustice, racism, discrimination, wars and genocide. This is not God's kingdom.

Still we pray "Thy kingdom Come...Thy will be done." God's Kingdom is coming and when it fully arrives there will be no inequality in it. In God's Kingdom there is social justice and equality for all.

Followers of Christ are not only praying for God's Kingdom to come, but we are also striving now for social justice and equality. We are empowered and enabled because a deposit of God's Kingdom has been placed within us.

But Satan is a clever devil. Dietrich Bonhoeffer describes Satan's strategy this way, "Satan does not fill us with hatred for God. He causes us to forget God."

If we can be made to forget God and who we are as His children, then Satan can have his way with us.

Satan is strong but the Christian who remembers God is stronger.

Question: In a world where ethnic, social, and gender differences separate people, how do Christians overcome these barriers? Let's talk about it Sunday morning at 9:45 at East Unaka Christian Church. This final message in the "Grace-Full Living" series will be "If You Belong To Christ..." The text is Galatians 3:26-29.

Forward and upward,
