Jesus said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." The root word of miserable is "miser". The unhappiest people in the world are the misers who hold on, who are stingy, who never let go, who are constantly looking out for themselves, and who have a greedy mind-set.

Karl Menninger, founder of the Menninger Psychiatric Hospital, said, "Giving is a good criteria for mental health. Generous people are seldom mentally ill."
