Title: Disciple Dropout: Is The Grass Really Greener?

Text: John 6:60—71

1. What does “disciple” imply? Give some examples.

2. What are some of the expectations that non-Christians might have that cause them to dropout after deciding to be a follower of Jesus?

3. What are some “greener pastures” that might distract Christians?

4. How do you know whether or not you are meant to be in a “greener pasture”?What circumstances/situations have you encountered that tempted you to quit church or, to think that being a Christian is not worth the effort?

5. Today some people say “yes to Jesus but no to church.” Can a person be a Christian and not be a part of a church? See Hebrews 10:25.

  1. 6. Robert Fulgram said, “The grass is greenest where it is watered. Therefore, water the grass where you are. Quit looking for that perfect place. Carry water. Even deserts will blossom and grow when there is water. You want green grass…carry water.” Identify some “waters” that Christians can use to keep growing. Who is responsible for the “watering”?
