Title: “If You Love Me, Then Feed My Sheep” Text: John 21:15-17
1. What caused Peter to be troubled when Jesus asked him the same question “Do you love me” 3 times?
2. What kept Peter from using the same term for love (agapao) that Jesus used? Which term would you use?
3. Caring for sheep was not a respected or honored profession. What do you suppose was Jesus saying when he told Peter, a fisherman, to “feed my sheep”?
4. What do sheep eat? What is the food to which Jesus was referring? What does this have to do with the mission of the church?
5. Are we to be good sheep or good shepherds? How and when do sheep become shepherds? Describe times when it is appropriate for you to be a sheep and times when it is appropriate for you to be a shepherd.
6. Someone said, “You can serve God without loving God but you cannot love God without serving.” What are some meanings of that statement? What does this have to do with the mission of the church?
