Title: “Seven Things Jesus Left Behind”

Text: Acts 1:1-11

1. Just for fun…mention a time you were going somewhere and left something important behind. What did you do? How did you manage?

2. The Gospel of Luke and the book of Acts were written by the same person. Discuss the contents of volume 1 and volume 2.

3. Read Acts 1:3 and discuss the significance of that verse.

4. Acts 1:8a says, “but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you…” What is the Holy Spirit? What value does that have for Christians today? What keeps Christians from recognizing & utilizing the Holy Spirit?

5. Acts 1:8b says, “you will be my witnesses”. What does that mean for those people? What does that NOT mean? What does that mean for us? Discuss the starting point.
