Title: What To Expect When You Witness

 

Text: Acts 4:1-12

 

1. Describe how your mother influenced your life. Describe the how she encouraged or discouraged you to respect her. Between your maternal and your paternal grandmothers, describe which one you respect the most and why.

 

2. Compare what we learn about Peter from the Gospels and what we learn about Peter from Acts. What changes do you notice? How do you explain those changes? What does that mean for us?

 

3. What does “to witness” mean? List some common stereotypes of someone who witnesses. How do disciples of Jesus deal with these?

 

4. Identify some of the most challenging aspects of being a disciple of Jesus? Identify reasons many Christians give for not sharing their faith.

 

5. What are some religious words that should be avoided in talking with non-Christians because they probably do not understand what the words mean?

 

6. Using words that might capture the interest of a non-Christian, describe what differences being a Christian have made in your life?

 

7. In describing your relationship with God, where would you start?
