DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

EUCC Bible School Classes For Sunday June 20, 2010 at 11:00

Title: Go, Stand, Tell Text: Acts 5:12-32

1. Acts 5:13 says, “no one else dared join them, even though they were highly regarded by the people.” What might have contributed to this distancing between Apostles and people? Reconcile 5:13 with 5:14. What’s going on here?

2. In Acts 5:15 what value was placed on Peter’s shadow? What kind of ministry was developing? What implications does this have for EUCC?

3. In Acts 5:29 Peter said, “We must obey God rather than men.” What implications does this have for complying with government laws that are contrary to God’s instruction? What should you expect when you disobey government? Is civil disobedience ever/never/always Christian?

4. Political correctness is now affecting our culture and creating an atmosphere of censorship and a climate of fear. What impact has government had on the celebration of Christmas; Easter; the display of a cross?

5. Benjamin Franklin said, “Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.” What will Christians do when our government

• Forbids all expressions of religion in schools, businesses, government, and the workplace?

• Removes all crosses in public places; will not allow any memorial to have the shape of a cross?

• Determines that partial birth abortion and euthanasia are protected by the constitution?

• Says churches cannot discriminate against homosexuals in hiring staff members?

• Determines that Biblically based teaching about homosexuality is considered a hate crime??

• Says that churches that refuse to marry homosexuals will lose their tax-exempt status?

• Requires a city/county permit for home Bible studies having more than 10 people?
